GEVENA COUNTY, Ala. — A medical examiner's report has confirmed human remains located April 9 in a grave off Peak Road in Holmes County to be that of a Geneva man, according to Alabama law enforcement officials.
Geneva Police Chief Tony Clemmons states the body has been identified as 36-year-old Brett Joshua Grantham, who was reported missing last August. according to reports, Grantham's tattoos and other factors helping confirm his identity.
Geneva law enforcement agencies held a press conference Monday, April 5, along with Holmes County Sheriff John Tate, during which they announced the arrest of 41-year-old Paul Michael and 27-year-old Rebeca Holt in connection to the murder of Grantham, whose identity had not officially been released at that time.
Michael is charged with murder, and Holt is charged with hindering prosecution.
Officials state they believe the murder occurred in Alabama after a heated argument regarding Holt, who was living at Michael’s home.
This is an ongoing investigation, and more arrests are possible.
