Don't take our freedoms for granted

Posted

Hope that your Memorial Day was filled with all the things that you have the freedom to do.  Please teach your children never to take our freedom for granted. There were some honoring moments in our area, and I was privileged to attend.

Thank you to those of you came out to support the American Legion/Tonya's Hope benefit.  Especially, a thank-you to the ones who made it happen.  Several members of the Legion spent several days smoking Boston butts.  That is real dedication.

On Memorial Day the American Legion will had their annual Flag Retiring Ceremony.  This is to honor our American flags that have become worn from standing for our freedom.  This was a very moving ceremony, and I for one was really touched by it.

Boyd Farm Fresh will be coming to Lanark on Thursday, June 3 from 10:30 a.m. to noon.  They will be located at the former Pearle Restaurant on Highway 98. Check out their website www.boydfarmfresh.com. You can also order your selection online before they come, for pick-up when they return.
