Eastpoint library’s soup sale Saturday moved indoors

Posted

The Friends of Franklin County Public Libraries volunteer group is hosting their annual Soup, Bread & Book Sale this Saturday, Jan. 22 at the Eastpoint branch of the Franklin County Public Library.

Originally planned to be outdoors, the expected chilly weather will likely move the event indoors. They ask that you wear masks indoors as social distancing may not be possible at times.

This popular sale features vintage and used books and DVDs, delicious homemade soups and freshly baked artisan breads. Books will go on sale at 160 Hickory Dip Rd. starting at 10 a.m.; soups and breads go on sale beginning at 11 a.m.

The soups and breads sell out fast so come early to get the best selection. As a bonus at this year’s sale, there will be some yard sale items available. In case of inclement weather, the sale will be moved indoors.

Book, soup, and bread donations are gladly accepted. Book donations may be dropped off at either branch – Eastpoint or Carrabelle. Food donations are being coordinated via a sign-up sheet at the Eastpoint library or by calling (850) 670-8151.

While you are at the Eastpoint Library, be sure to check out the lovely new gazebo, part of the library beautification project sponsored by the Friends. The mission of the Friends is to support the county libraries' goal to provide informational, educational and cultural materials for the benefit of persons of all ages in the community. Through fundraising the Friends support library programs that include Summer Reading; Music as Another Language; Read With Me Storytime for ages 1-6, STEAM 1 (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) for ages 8-12, STEAM 2 for ages 5-7;, ANIME Club for grades 5-12; Teen Book Club for grades 6-12; adult computer classes, and Lego Club.

Friends of Franklin County Public Libraries is a 501(c)3 organization that supports the libraries in Eastpoint and Carrabelle.

For those who cannot make this sale, there will be another sale at the Carrabelle branch on Saturday, Feb. 19. For more information, please contact the Friends of the Franklin County Public Libraries at ffcplflorida@gmail.com
