Well, this time we are happy to be ignored. The greedy Hurricane Ian missed us to go on to a bigger playground, leaving many of us to pray and worry about our families and friends in the many parts of Florida and other states. I am grateful that all of my family and friends are safe, as I hope yours are.
On Sunday the Lanark Village Association had an event to encourage people to “Get to Know Us” and to welcome the new neighbors. We had a really nice afternoon, eating and talking. We had hoped the state fire coordinators would be there, but that is one more thing Ian messed up. Thank you to all who joined us.
You will be informed on the St. James Lanark Fire Department as soon as the information unfolds. You may contact Robert Amick, firstname.lastname@example.org or Eric Grajales, 407-0757-6997 to sign up. They are hoping to start some firefighting training soon.
The Lanark Village Association will be having their first meeting after a long, hot summer. Some of the snowbirds are coming back in and we will have our full board back. We are hoping people come join us and learn what we do and the importance of our efforts. We love our community and everything is done to improve Lanark.
We are on the county commissioners' meeting agenda this week again. They will be deciding the fate of our garbage cans. Some residents have already realized the importance of this issue to their community and neighbors, however, we are a neighborhood that has a lot of turnover with part-time and rental neighbors. It is important property owners and rental companies understand what it takes to keep Lanark Village the best it can be.
Grab your calendars and turn to October I have more:
Oct. 15, the Lanark Village Boat Club will be having their wonderful breakfast. That evening the American Legion will have a fun Halloween Party.
Oct. 29, the Lanark Village Golf Club will be having a tournament. Please come to support us.
The Lanark Village Association will have their Halloween Party, YAY! I will tell you all about it next week.
