Camp Gordon Johnston World War II Museum in Carrabelle is presenting a special exhibit Commemorating D-Day, to be on display until Saturday, July 2.
The museum is open every Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is no charge for admission, but donations are gladly accepted.
The museum is located at 1873 Hwy 98 West, directly across from the very beach where the beach assault training occurred in 1942-43 and which was the site of many practice beach assault landings.
The "Here Comes the Sun" exhibit opens at the Joe Center for the Arts on Friday in Port St. Joe. The summer show celebrates all things under the sun by showcasing work from local artists.
The exhibit will run through August 5.
Pick up produce and seafood and join the fun at the Apalachicola Farmers Market this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. EDT.
Chess players of all ages and skill levels are invited to play at the Corinne Costin Gibson Memorial Library in Port St. Joe on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. EDT.
