Tate's Hell 5K, Bay Fest Saturday

In a welcome respite from the flurry of this week's hurricane preparations, the Tate's Hell 5K and Bay Fest is alive and well and on schedule, as it provides a full day of outdoor adventure this Saturday, Oct. 1 as the event returns to St. James Bay Golf Resort.

Activities include a 5K, bike safety rodeo, live music, Key lime pie tasting and bake-off, auction, food specials, and pickleball tournament.

Salt Air Farmers Market

Shop local farmers and artisans. Let your family enjoy art pieces and the amazing flavors of fresh veggies, sweet Tupelo Honey and vine-ripened fruit. The Salt Air Farmers Market is open first and third Saturdays of the month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. EDT in downtown Port St. Joe.

WWII museum exhibit closes Saturday

The Camp Gordon Johnston World War II Museum will wrap up its special exhibit on Operation Market Garden this Saturday, Oct. 1.

The Sept. 1944 battle, an attempt to establish control of the bridge over the Rhine at Arnhem on the border of Germany and the Netherlands, was commemorated in the 1977 film by director Richard Attenborough, “A Bridge Too Far,” with a star-studded cast.

The museum,  at 1873 Hwy 98 West, is open every Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is no charge for admission, but donations are gladly accepted. For more info, contact the museum at (850) 697-8575 or museum@campgordonjohnston.com.
