Tupelo Honey Festival

Under the great mossy oaks of Lake Alice Park, people will come from all over the world to Wewahitchka to taste and take home the country's finest Tupelo Honey.

Food, fun, music – it's all here, along with loads of small-town charm.

The festival will be May 21 from 9 a.m. CDT to  5 p.m. CDT.

Crooked River Lighthouse market

The Crooked River Lighthouse continues to host their Country Market every first and third Saturday, the next on Saturday, May 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lighthouse Park outside Carrabelle.

The open-air market, at the foot of Carrabelle’s lighthouse, features vendors from the community who feature gifts and goodies including fresh roasted coffee, art and photography, baked goods, handcrafted balms and soaps, handmade goods and craft items, and exotic starter plants. Plus there are fresh herbs and veggies from the lighthouse’s garden.

Guests can also visit the free museum and browse the gift shop for unique nautical gifts, or climb to the top of the lighthouse.

Cape San Blas Garden Tour

Tour six gardens on Cape San Blas and Indian Pass on Saturday, May 21 from  11:00 a.m.  to 4:00 p.m. EDT (Rain date is Saturday, June 4).

Tickets are a $10 donation to SGCFR and can be purchased in advance on Facebook at South Gulf Fire Rescue (Events tab). 

Tickets can also be purchased the day of the event at Fire Station 1 , located at 240 Cape San Blas Road. PayPal, checks, or cash are accepted. Wrist bands and maps can be picked up the day of the event from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Fire Station 1. 

100% of ticket sales for this event benefit South Gulf Fire & Rescue.

Build your Bucket

Franklin County Emergency Management, along with other county offices and organizations, is hosting a Build-Your-Bucket event that will provide supplies that will help Franklin County families build disaster preparedness buckets during a disaster. 

The event is on Saturday, May 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Vrooman Park in Eastpoint, and will provide an opportunity for families to collect critical supplies and build their own disaster supply kits, for free.

Jennifer Daniels, deputy director of Franklin County Emergency Management, is appealing to local businesses to support the event with materials or products, and to set up a table to hand out items if they wish.

Flathead Classic fishing tournament

The Flathead Classic fishing tournament will be held this weekend at Dead Lakes Park in Wewahitchka.
The price for entry is $150 per team.
 
Fish Bag, Rod & Reel Only, Fish must be weighed in alive.

This is an ACA Division 3 event.

Formal Registration May 2l from noon  to 3:00 p.m. CDT.
Captains' Meeting May 2t at 3:00 p.m. CDT.
Lines in May 21 at 4:00 p.m. CDT.
Lines out May 22 at 8:00 a.m. CDT.

Weigh In Begins at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 22.

Pick up  produce and seafood and join the fun at the Apalachicola Farmers Market this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. EDT. 

Salt Air Farmers Market

Shop local farmers and artisans. Let your family enjoy art pieces and the amazing flavors of fresh veggies, sweet Tupelo Honey and vine-ripened fruit.  The market will be open Saturday, May 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. EDT on Reid Avenue in Downtown Port St. Joe.
